what we do

Together, We Create Hope.

We listen to and amplify the shared concerns and priorities of people with dementia, family and professional caregivers, long-term care providers, support services, government, and more.

We connect people together to help them collaborate on ideas and solutions that will make Calgary a more supportive community for people with dementia and their caregivers.

We share stories of hope and progress, highlighting the ways in which the passion and dedication of Calgarians who are working to improve the lives of people impacted by dementia is creating positive, systems-level change.

Strategy Roadmap

The Network community has identified five priority areas where supporting collaboration and action would be most impactful in making Calgary a place where people impacted by dementia can live life well.

1

Advocacy
Championing policies and initiatives that support aging in place, promoting a relational model of care that prioritizes dignity, independence, and quality of life for individuals living with dementia and their families.

2

System Navigation
Enhancing awareness and access to essential resources, ensuring that individuals, caregivers, and healthcare providers can easily find the information and support they need at every stage of the dementia journey.

3

Early Diagnosis
Strengthening efforts in early detection, timely diagnosis, and proactive intervention to improve long-term outcomes. Providing education and resources to help individuals and families plan for the future with confidence.

4

Public Awareness
Challenging misconceptions about dementia by increasing public education, fostering understanding, and encouraging inclusive conversations that reduce fear and stigma surrounding cognitive decline.

5

Dementia-Inclusive Communities
Creating environments where people living with dementia feel safe, valued, and supported—whether in public spaces, workplaces, or healthcare settings. Strengthening community initiatives that promote accessibility and inclusion.
